Over the years, I've recorded a lot of different projects on the drums, and therefore have learned how to do this job professionally and properly.

So how does this work ? 

​

First, get in touch with me so we can discuss about your project and recording. As we get to know each other, I try to get a clear idea of what you want, and we can also plan a schedule.

How much will this cost and what am I exactly doing for you ? 

​

The standard price is as follow : I charge 200 EUR as a start (Covering the new drumheads, the setup, etc.) It is the same whatever the length of the project is. After this, I charge 15 EUR par minute of recording. To give an exemple, an album of 30 minutes is about 650 EUR.

I'll ask for a third of the price as a prepayment before I start working on your project.

That's nice and all, but what do you get with this ?

​

Here is what I do for you :

​

• DISCUSSION. Again, we discuss the sound of the drums you want, as well as if you have specific taste in both sound and style (Fat or pingy snare, etc.) You can share with me albums in which you like the drumming, etc.

• WRITING. I can write (or rewrite) all the drums part, in my style or in a style of your choosing (It will always be "my" style, but I adapt myself as much as possible to the way you want). If you want me to play something super specific or want to leave me total freedom, both are possible. Just let me know which parts you want me to take over and which parts need to remain in a specific way. The only thing I need from you is a tempo map/click track, and a drumless track with the instruments (in MIDI, quick preproduction, or whatever).

• REC. Then I record your project.

• FIXING. If there is some parts you dislike, you have a fews days to let me know which ones (in which I won't change a thing on my setup, so I can record again). We discuss what you would have prefered or if you just want me to try something else. Then, I rerecord those parts for you.

• VIDEOS. I will record one track of your album on video, for promotion purpose. You'll get a 3 cams video (Foot + 2 overview) of my recording session. I will usually edit them my way, and post them on my YouTube channel.

• EDIT. When the recording is done, I edit the drums. Usually, I edit the drums just a little bit in order to get rid of a few mistakes I would not have heard during the recording session, and leave some space for the drums to breath. I'm not a fan of a full-on-grid-robotic drums, so I usally keep it "lively".

• MIX FILES PREPARATION. When this is done, I prepare the files for the sound engineer that will mix your album. What I do here is gating the toms by hand, making the MIDI file for the kick trigger if neccessary, etc. I prepare all the raw files for your sound engineer, but I will also make a little "mix" on my own of the drums just for you in case you need a mixed drums to record other instruments right away. This way, you already have something to keep your workflow going. I will send you everything once I get the last two thirds of the price.

And then, we are done ! You have your drums.
